It's been a while since Pokémon Unite's been released and I got to say that it's a pretty good game. But still have the same old issues as I talked about earlier. I still think Zapdos is too much of a game changer, and I also think the game is too simple. I think it's good that it is simple. But it's too simple there are not as much strategy and variety, like different creeps as such.
But else I think it's a solid game. :)

Completed pokémon Sword! (some days ago)Pretty fun game. Although there are some things i kind of didn't like that much. First I'd like there to be more places to explore. Like sure there were some areas that were big, which was the thing I liked the most about the game. But it felt a bit linear, which was a bit dissapointing when you have big areas, but then very linear map. So y, not the best. Other things that were kind not preferable about the game was - while I think the difficulty was ok. I have played some games recently which was a bit hard/annoying, Pokémon Sword/Shield was a bit to easy at times. First the exp.share thing, made things way to easy, instead of having 1 strong pokémon, you had you're entire team being strong, which obviously made things pretty easy. The second thing I find a bit overly easy is the fact that you see if a move is supereffective or not. The first time you meet a pokémon it doesn't say how effective a move is, but later on when you have it in your pokédex it always shows how effective a move is. Which makes battles Waaay easier than normally. You don't even have to think or guess what type it is, it's just to look and scroll through your party and search for a pokémon which is super effective and beat the pokémon. They made it too easy and beginner-friendly imo. And the types felt like one of the difficulties of the game, as some gym leaders had some pokémon with tricky types. Another thing was how easy your rival is. In the first generations your rival can be somewhat of a challenge as he choses the pokémon your weak against. But in Sword and Shield, you're rival "Hop" choses the pokémon you're strong against, which makes te battles against him pretty easy...
But that got to be my main critique of the game. Otherwise it was pretty good. I really like the new pokémon as well as the graphics of the game (although I sadly found the music somewhat mundane :/, but the graphics were very well). Having played only up till gen 4, gen 3 being the highest exept this game, I found most pokémon somewhat "new" even though they might have appeared earlier in gen 4, 5 or some other. Which was nice. I also like the bigger areas, was really cool. So overall, a pretty good game! :) Finally finished transcibing skylanders: Giants Junkyard Isles - Main Theme. Feels like I've been working a bit too much on that one. But hey, now it's done.
Enjoy! Was going to post about my impressions of the game lightbringer (for nintendo switch) but now writing this have actually completed the game. Don't want to spoil to much. But it is a pretty ok/good game. I really like the design and the platform elements. Being some mix of platform/puzzle and adventure game. Kind of reminds a bit of zelda, but stil feels very unique. But there is one big drawback to the game I think - the difficulty.
Although you do have a lot of hearts (which are your lives), apart from the earlier levels, I feel like in some levels you have to be resouorceful of them and save them in case you need them later (or you'll probably do in some levels). the big difficulty comes in the combination of some tough platform section, areas with lots of enemies and no checkpoint. If the game had a like midway checkpoint it would be way easier and way better, as you don't have to fear dying late into a level. And mind that some levels are pretty long. One other annoying thing that I found early is how a lot of the platforms seems so narrow. And if you slip off them you could fall into a pitfall and lose a heart. Which leads that you have to be careful when walking and jumping as you don't want to lose one of your heart which you'll probably need later in the levels, which is kind of annoying. While that has to be probably the only concern I have. The game is kind of generous on hearts though which does balance it up, but the game still feels kind of challening overall, and mind that even though I did clear most levels on a few tries, I do consider myself a pretty experienced gamer, so I can see how less skilled players would find it hard. On the positive however i do like the combination of platform, adventure and puzzle. I also like that you have a boomerang as your weapon, kind of nice touch. The bosses also feels really good, kind of challening but still good overall. I really like the 3rd boss, best one of them all. I also like how the game tries to be creative and artistic and maybe poetic with having the story-lines rhyme. I find it kind of neat first time but it gets a bit daunting over time, as all lines pretty much rhyme. But y overall I think it's a good game, like the aesthetics and such. But beware that it might a bit difficult. I'd say it's good/ok game. |
